White Hatter Digital Literacy Program Coming to Collettville

October 30, 2025

We’re excited to share a new initiative — this one made possible through the Mental Health in Schools grant. It focuses on a digital literacy program for students in Grades 4-7 and has the potential to include parent sessions as well. In recent months, several parents have expressed how important digital literacy is and their wish to see more education on this topic in schools. We hear families' concerns and are responding accordingly. The White Hatter program has been successfully used by other schools in our district, and we believe it will be a great fit for our community as well.

Plan for Students - 2025-2026:
  • Virtual Presentations or "Live Broadcasts" in Fall (November), Winter (February), Spring (April), and Summer (June)
  • Fall presentation - aimed at students in Grades 4-5
  • Winter, Spring, and Summer presentations - aimed at students in Grades 6-7
We’re currently exploring opportunities to secure additional funding to support the Parent/Caregiver program(s). Stay tuned!

This initiative acknowledges the important connection between digital literacy, mental health, and overall well-being, and aligns with both our school’s Enhancing Learning Goals and District’s Strategic Plan. Involving families in our digital literacy campaign is yet another way we are strengthening partnerships within our community to meet the needs of all students.
